Biography
The DIRTY ROTTEN IMBECILES' history begins on May 2, 1982 around 4:00pm, in the city of Houston, TX. It was on this day that the musically aggressive quartet we now know as D.R.I. made their first Dirty Rotten noise and called it a song. Back then it was Spike Cassidy (guitar), Kurt Brecht (vocals), Eric Brecht (drums), and Dennis Johnson (bass).

The group started practicing at Kurt and Eric's pa...See More
Description
Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (also known as D.R.I.) are a United States hardcore punk/thrashcore/crossover thrash band that formed in Houston, Texas, in 1982. The band currently comprises founding members, vocalist Kurt Brecht and guitarist Spike Cassidy, as well as drummer Rob Rampy and bassist Harald Oimoen.

D.R.I. never gained a mainstream audience, but the integration of their hardcore punk roots with thrash metal influences was a stylistic catalyst for their contemporaries —most notably Suicidal Tendencies, Corrosion of Conformity, and Stormtroopers of Death— alongside whom they are considered pioneers of what would later be called "crossover thrash." This subgenre was also coined from their 1987 album Crossover.

FRANK GAMBALE

Grammy winning guitar virtuoso, FRANK GAMBALE, exploded on the L.A. scene in the early ‘80s. His meteoric rise to fame is a testament to his passion-powered playing – a style Rolling Stone magazine called “ferocious!" Australia born and California based Frank Gambale is an inspired songwriter with more than 250 songs published on 20+ albums. His music touches on many styles from rock, funk and jazz to R&B and some Latin and Brazillian influences. As a legendary guitarist, Gambale is an undisputed genius who originated the "sweep picking" technique (a new way to play the instrument) and elevated it to a precise art form now standard in the guitar lexicon. The "Gambale Sweep Picking Technique" continues to inspire generations of musicians. Jazz, rock, metal and progressive artists alike are united in their awe of Frank as both an amazing technician and an unsurpassed musician.

Jazz legend, Chick Corea, described Frank: “Everything you touch with your guitar turns gold – always has.”

Guitar great, John McLaughlin, joked: “I’d like to cut his hands off.”

Jazz guitarist Pat Metheny says of Frank: “I’d like to take a month off and study with Frank Gambale.”

Dweezil Zappa said "studying Frank Gambale's Sweep Picking technique enabled me to play the hardest parts of my father's music that he himself didn't play."

A musician’s musician, a gifted composer, and a brilliant innovator and author of numerous instructional books and DVDs, Frank continues to reach unprecedented sonic and technical heights. His six string prowess and seemingly limitless vision point toward an exciting future of groundbreaking music.

On this tour, FRANK GAMBALE is joined by the legendary jazz, fusion and funk drummer, and one of the busiest time keepers in the world, DENNIS CHAMBERS (Santana, John McLaughlin, Mike Sterns, John Scofield, George Duke, Niacin, Parliament Funkadelic, Brecker Brotehrs, Victor Wooten), as well by the bassist Mike Pope (Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker,  Chuck Loeb, Mike Stern, Joe Locke, Bill Bruford, David Sanborn, Manhattan Transfer)  and keyboardist Sean Wayland (Chad Wackerman, Virgil Donati, Adam Rogers, Wayne Krantz, David Binney).

The UNtold Story of Unknown

While singing his own hilariously politically incorrect songs, Unknown Hinson plays guitar in a style incendiary enough to have Satan himself reaching for the antiperspirant. But don't dismiss him as a novelty act. He's one hell of a talent and has the music to prove it!

Looking somewhat like Dracula's nasty little brother who spent some hard years drinking and working as a carnival barker for a second-rate freak show, Unknown Hinson translates that vibe to his style of country and western-tinged psychobilly. The band is now touring nationwide, wowing audiences with outrageous and campy, white-trash persona and freewheeling, sleazy tone.

Hinson’s most recent CD release, "Live and Undead", melds weepy twang, searing guitar riffs and lyrics that speak of love-gone-bad. Recorded at a sold-out show, an enthusiastic honky tonk crowd sings along with the King on every song. Raucous, theatrical and over-the-top, Unknown Hinson isn’t just for the trailer park set anymore!

Unknown is gaining international notoriety in the 14-34 demographic as the voice of lead character "Early Cuyler" in the popular show from Cartoon Network - "Squidbillies". The first four seasons were so well-received that an immediate green light was given to future seasons. Check website for dates and time slots.

Unknown Hinson is an international winner in the Independent Music Awards for his alternative Country track "Torture Town" from the album "Target Practice".

Upon his first performance at Rockabilly Revival, an annual festival in Austin, Tx, Rockabilly Magazine named Unknown Hinson as their "Find of the Year" www.rockabillymagazine.com

On Wednesday Feb. 13, 8:00 pm., the first-of-its-kind global talent competition on CBS featured Los Angeles teen family rock band Liliac as one of ‘The World’s Best.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvqwBrkJ_jw

The A-student siblings from Downey in Liliac – all under the age of 20 -- were discovered on the Santa Monica Pier, where they’ve performed together every weekend for three years:

Lead vocals, Melody, 17; lead guitar Samuel, 20; Abigail on drums, 19; bass guitar, Ethan, 12; and Justin, 11, on keyboards.

The Cristea kids' named their band Liliac -- "vampire bat" in Romanian – combining their family love of American rock 'n' roll and their parents' Transylvania heritage.

Liliac’s Santa Monica Pier performances have also attracted fans from around the world: their videos have gone viral on YouTube and Facebook with over 50 Million views all together.
